Alfred Nobel was born 21 st October 1833 in Sweden for a poor family. He was a chemist and a great inventor. Alfred couldn't go to school for many years because his father couldn't have enough money. Later, he was able to study because his father got a good job. Alfred was a very intelligent person. He was able to speak different languages. He also likes to read scientific books and to write stories. After his death in Italy in 1896, he left a lot of money, so people could start the Nobel Prize. These are awards for people's great achievements all over the world in different fields such as medicine, science and literature. The winner gets both a small trophy and money. To remember Alfred Nobel, the awards are given on December10th which is the day he died.
